Happy Holidays!
So far the 2012 season is off to a good start. As I write this, about two-thirds of our members have registered, the Adult Program has kicked off with the Fellowships in November and tournaments in December, and Juniors are busily putting their teams together.

Call for Board Member Candidates!
Now is the time to participate in the selection of your future leaders of CHRVA. The CHRVA Nominations Committee is seeking nominations for the Board of Directors for two-year terms beginning in May 2012. Members of the CHRVA Board of Directors make programmatic, governance, and financial decisions that impact each and every CHRVA member, so this is your opportunity to contribute to this important process. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Rebecca Johannes at rebecca.johannes@chrva.org.
The deadline for submitting your name for consideration is February 1, 2012.
The yearly schedule usually includes five meetings, of which two are held in person (one of those follows the member at-large meeting in late Spring) and the others are done via conference calls. Votes are occasionally held via email, as are many discussions, so that things move forward in a more timely manner. Don't let your geographic location be a barrier!
If you have a passion for a particular project or facet of the Region this is your chance to apply that passion! One example, we are looking to expand the opportunities for Juniors for Outdoor in the summer and need someone to help coordinate that. If you think there are improvements to be made, get involved and be part of the solution!

Adult Program News for the 2012 Season
The season is off to a fairly good start. Seventy teams have registered so far. The evening clinics and the clinic in conjunction with the November 3 Fellowship were a huge success. Next year we will have access to online clinics as well. The new online tournament entry system seems to be working well. There are a couple of things that I need to clarify for the team reps, but otherwise everyone has mentioned that they like it. The jury is still out on some of the cost cutting measures that were implemented. This article addresses the following topics. Click on the topic to jump to that section.

Happy Holidays from the Junior Girls
Those of us in the Chesapeake Region Junior Girls Administration would first like to wish you all the best during this holiday season. Most of us have gone through tryouts, started our practices, attended scorer and/or referee clinics, and we are anxiously anticipating our first tournaments. We, in the Junior Girls administration, have attempted to make all the stages as smooth and seamless as possible. Every detail does not go as planned. However, we have made great strides in keeping up with the growth of our region.

FAQs about Seedings and Results
1. Why are the results not posted for a tournament?
- Results being posted for a tournament depend on when I receive all the required information from the Tournament Director.
- Once all the information is received, each scoresheet is checked and all results are double checked. Then information is posted on the website.
- When there are no delays in receiving the information, results are posted within 14 days after a tournament has happened.
- If information is not sent in a timely fashion, the results are delayed in being posted.
